Dr. Roxanne Valies

Roxanne Valies is a seasoned technology professional, academic scholar, and community leader, with over 25 years of experience spanning enterprise technology management, higher education, and public service.      

As Technology Manager at Baptist Health South Florida, she managed a complex Virtual Desktop and Infrastructure (Citrix and VMware Horizon) environment hosting critical Clinical applications and desktops spanning various data centers in support of the 37,000+ employees who promote the health and well-being of patients. She led, build, and supported the VDI systems engineering team.

As a Systems Engineer for Baptist, she led projects to integrate simple, complex and multi-tiered applications within large enterprise for virtual delivery. She progressed from System Engineer to Senior Engineer to Lead Engineer and then Principal Systems engineer working on Virtual Desktop and Infrastructure (Citrix and VMware Horizon) environment.

She has a Doctorate in Business, a Masters and Bachelors in Management of Information Systems and a Masters in Human Resources Management. Her most intricate VDI project was transitioning from on-premises Citrix platforms to VMware Horizon in the Azure cloud, while working on standardization of three disparate VDI environments. The result was a transformation that improved operational efficiency and scalability.
